On certain vehicles equipped with a power liftgate, corrosion could occur in the liftgate control module, which could result in an electrical short, potentially resulting in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and repair as necessary. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 2015-271.

On certain vehicles, there may be an incorrect crimp on the wire harness terminal of the brake transmission shift interlock (BTSI) solenoid. This could result in a loss of solenoid function, which could cause the transmission to lock in the Park or Neutral gear without warning when the vehicle comes to a stop. Depending on the driver's reactions and traffic conditions, this could increase the risk of a crash resulting in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the gear shifter assembly.

On certain vehicles, some front left halfshafts may contain a manufacturing defect related to the material hardening. This could result in the front left halfshaft breaking, causing a loss of motive power (on front wheel drive vehicles) and potentially damaging underbody components. In addition, the halfshaft could separate and become a road hazard for other motorists. These issues could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the suspect front left halfshaft.

On certain vehicles, some front right halfshafts may contain a manufacturing defect related to the material hardening. On certain vehicles, the first and/or second row seat fasteners may not have been tightened to specification at time of assembly. This could result in squeaks, rattles, deflection or unsatisfactory joint integrity, which could compromise the structural integrity of the seat, potentially increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants during a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the seats or seat sets as necessary.

On certain vehicles equipped with certain 3.6L V6 gasoline engines, the fuel rail crossover tube may be damaged. Over time this could result in a fuel leak, which in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of a vehicle fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect the fuel rail crossover tube for damage. The fuel rail assembly and the lower intake manifold will be replaced on vehicles found to have the damage.

On certain vehicles equipped with the Roadside Emergency Kit containing a Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the suspect Kidde fire extinguisher with a new Kidde fire extinguisher with a steel nozzle. On certain vehicles, an electronic fault may create a situation where the cruise control cannot be deactivated. If this occurs and the driver does not apply the brakes or shift the transmission to neutral, the vehicle could maintain speed or accelerate without warning, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software and perform an update as necessary. Note: In the interim, owners are advised not to use the cruise control until the vehicle is repaired.

Issue: This recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by Vitro Automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Safety Risk: Glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: The company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “DOT 287” along with the lettering “VMR” (Replacement Market) and a date code that is before July 2019. Issue: On certain vehicles with a two-speed power transfer unit (PTU), the input splines on the front differential may wear and fail. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. In addition, the PARK position may not hold the vehicle in place. This could allow the vehicle to move unexpectedly when parked. Safety Risk: A vehicle that loses power to the wheels or moves unexpectedly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the power transfer unit. This update will maintain vehicle propulsion by engaging rear wheels if the input splines fail. It will also prevent the vehicle from moving unexpectedly when transmission is in PARK by activating the parking brake.

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a 3.0 L diesel engine, a problem with the engine tone wheel could cause a loss of signal to crankshaft position sensor. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the powertrain control module. This update will help maintain engine power if the crankshaft position signal is lost.

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a 3.0-L EcoDiesel engine, the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler could crack internally and leak. If this happens, a driver may notice a low coolant level or a heater that does not work properly. Safety Risk: A cracked EGR cooler could create the risk of an engine fire. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the EGR cooler. Dealers will also inspect intake manifold and replace it as necessary.

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a 3.0 L diesel engine, the high-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, you may notice a change in engine performance, a fuel leak, or a malfunction indicator lamp and/or service electronic throttle control tell-tale may turn on. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the high-pressure fuel pump. Additional fuel system parts may be replaced, if necessary.

Issue: On certain vehicles, water could leak into the power liftgate control module. If this happens, the control module could short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit could create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. FCA Canada advises that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed.

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a 3.0 L diesel engine, a problem with the engine tone wheel could cause a loss of signal to crankshaft position sensor. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. Note: Vehicles included in FCA recall W58 (Transport Canada recall 2020-371) are not part of this recall. Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has corrected the tire and loading information label for all new vehicles.
